Imagine your computer’s at work and you can’t be arsed going back to get it, but you’re an internet junkie! Do you:
- Find a smelly internet cafe with grubby peripherals and shit food?
- go outside and play or read a book?
Or of course being a girl of the wired world, you:
- Attempt to do your interwebs busines using that sexy-ass phone you carry around with a big screen and a nice browser?
The last one, right? Right? WRONG. Because it crashes often, because text entry is as painful as buggery, and because as much as we all should love mobile web browsers having full support for Flash and JavaScript and all that, the screen is still THREE FREAKING INCHES. I actually started this entry on my mobile phone and the poor thing shat itself and crashed when I received a text.
Honestly. I can’t believe people still think this is a mobile revolution. It will be if manufacturers start really helping the web development community to learn how to deal with this better. We have all the tools to deal with this already (herro, handheld css?), but I really despair at the idea of investing the time in making a handheld stylesheet when most of the handheld devices I’ve tried are completely ignoring it.
